My final thoughts on the upcoming Sherlock adaptation (because i’m sure there will be plenty to howl about later and I’m saving my limited outrage): I find it kind of hilarious that people who describe themselves as huge fans of several British series are referring to Jonny Lee Miller as “Some guy we’ve never heard of before”.

thelaughingmagician: gingerhaze: Okay but seriously Stop saying that every show the US makes is shit and every show the UK makes is magical because it’s not true. I do take issue with CBS doing a modern-day Sherlock Holmes show right after BBC’s Sherlock got big, but that said, Sherlock Holmes is not a new idea, and several US TV shows are based on the Holmes/Watson dynamic to varying...

This day has been a bit of a mixed bag
Woke up feeling as if I had gotten through the worst of a new med adjustment Took Punk to toddler dance party. Room full of toddlers rocking out. ADORABLE. Tough pain day. Husband had rough day too. Rough day made rougher when I had to tell him that I accidentally killed his camera. I had dinner with @Creature57! And it was awesome! And I look forward to doing it many times in the future!!...

phamos: sexartandpolitics: thecurvature: milkeemountainmama: feministx: We are a group of established feminist activists, educators, writers, bloggers and lecturers. We are speaking out as the result of the behaviour and posts coming from some of the online feminist community, which we view as unhealthy for the movement. After some thoughtful consideration, we can… ***rolls eyes*** oh,...

Flavorwire » The 30 Harshest Author-on-Author... →
cleolinda: 15. William Faulkner on Ernest Hemingway “He has never been known to use a word that might send a reader to the dictionary.” 14. Ernest Hemingway on William Faulkner “Poor Faulkner. Does he really think big emotions come from big words?” I’m amused that in nearly every case I prefer the insulted over the insultee.

Ah HA!
breeherself: Finally figured out why Kaidan Alenko’s voice actor sounds so familiar (besides the whole playing copious amounts of Mass Effect thing). He’s Jiminy Cricket in Once Upon a Time. And I always think of him as “That guy who played Tom Sawyer in that one Disney movie where the girl who played Anne Shirley was Becky”.

Santorum: Being Female is a Mental Disorder →
kahtiihma: psdo: goddessofcheese: sleazeandhustle: mrsjojharrison: It has been my experience that when dealing with females, you need to treat them as though they have a mental disorder… especially those that are constantly seeking equality in the workplace, the military, and in the home. Women need to know their place and need to know when it is okay for them to speak. They were put on...

My mother in law is here for a visit, which is very nice: she’s a lovely woman, and my daughter  absolutely adores her. This time she came and brought a sewing desk which belonged to HER MiL. This is great in and of itself, but even better is this: It came with all the drawer contents. *victory arms*
